2023 Ceremonial First Pitch

On Sunday, May 7th the St. Thomas Coed League kicked off the 2023 season. In first-time fashion, the League welcomed St. Thomas Mayor Joe Preston and City Council Member Jim Herbert to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Community Liaison Fred Sinclair and Vice-President Carrie Daugharty made arrangements to invite Mayor Preston and umpire-turned-City Councilor Jim Herbert to the park to throw out the opening pitch of the biggest season in recent league history. The teams from all five opening games gathered on Diamond 5 at the Doug Tarry Complex to take part in the event. We hope to continue this new tradition for years to come. Also on opening day, the league welcomed the opening of the Ice Box food booth at the Complex. The new company sign was unveiled by Ice Box owner Markus Hawco and League President Scott Johnson. The Ice Box offers a variety of food and beverages and is a welcome return to the park.
